I have a 3rd generation (94') with 63K milage.

My warranty just expired and I wanted to purchase a new one (2yrs, 20K or more...).

Does anyone know where I can get one (Cam from Pettit Racing told me to check on the forum, that they were still available for 94's).

Also, my door handle on the passenger side does not work any longer, any suggestions? (Mazda dealership wants me to replace entire door handle, $250-300 + labor!!)

Buy the parts and do it yourself. Check out www.thepartstrader.com or search this forum for totalled cars getting parted out.

 

Door handles are easy to get access to. Pull off the black cover on the inside of the door (pressure fit, just pull firmly) and you'll see two screws that secure the handle. Unscrew those and the handle will be removable from the outside. Two linkages will still be holding the handle to the car, one for the lock and one for the door handle. Check to make sure they're both attached and they may need to be tweaked, but you'll just have to mess with it some perhaps...
