Want to check for spark without flooding engine...

Which relay do I pull so no fuel is injected when turning the car over, while still getting spark? Will pulling the EGI relay still allow for spark?

I could be wrong....but I think the EGI will disable the spark as well. Not sure the best way keep fuel from being injected.....but one way is to have somebody else crank your car..... have them push the gas pedal all the way to the floor before they ever touch the key....then crank the engine.... I think that will keep fuel from being injected

Please correct me if I'm wrong or if there is a better way.... I'm sure there are many, many people out there with more knowledge then me

egi removes spark and fuel. Pulling egi and removing spark plug is how you unflood motor

Pull the fuel pump relay. It'll caugh a few times with the residual pressure in the system, but it won't run.

Thanks Jeepguy..flooring the car while turning it over would probably work, and I'll do what rx7 joe says as well. In the worst case, if I do this whatever additional fuel causing pressure in the lines will also end up in the motor (already flooded I think),which is tolerable.

yes its the fuel pump relay you need to take out. if you take out each plug individually and ground it while leaving it connected to its wire and turn the motor over you can check for spark and youll be unflooding at the same time if its flooded.
