W32.Klez.H@mm virus - warning
Hey guys, in the past 3 days I have gotten infected e-mails from about 4 people on the forum that had the above virus. Super glad I have Symantec Corp 7.6 running at home. Anyway, Symantec says this virus is still going around strong as of today. Everyone may want to check your PCs for infections. Just an FYI.

the only way to not get them is if you don't download your mail.....so in a way, you don't have a choice unless you go to web based email readers such as from hotmail or yahoo, but those things can be cumbersome....
the most vulnerable email reader would be outlook express, so if you're using it and don't like it, then you can use eudora. it's the same thing, but outlook viruses don't effect it, but viruses that can compromise your computer it cannot protect from because you're still downloading mail. I've been using eudora for several years now and just have no desire to change and I hate microsoft
.
best thing to do if you want to use outlook/eudora/any other mail reader is to just keep norton protecting your computer from new things that come in. also keep your virus definitions updated so norton will recognize the new viruses that go loose every day (there's many thousands of viruses out there that already attack windows boxes).
other than that, your only other choice is to not use those programs at all and find another way to read your mail.
I get these viruses every once in a while and most of them are from members of another forum and some are from people who somehow have a hold of my email address.....
