Very Wierd need a little help or insight

It seems that my Idle control that points straight up and down and can be adjusted with a phillips is moving? not sure how this is happening...it seems that my car will idle fine when i start it and then when i drive it for a little bit it has a lot higher RPM around 3 grand sometimes...then others 2 grand depending when i get to it...i notice that i can turn it back down and its fine...so i know its moving otherwise i would eventually run outta space to turn it back.

has anyone ran into this problem before...

once again when car is run the idle adjustment ( idle Bleed i believe) moves up and causes a higher idle..

IIRC, the throttle plate adjuster (the vertical one) should have a lock nut to keep it from moving. If it doesn't, that's why it's moving. The idle bleed screw is under the intake elbow.

There should be a jamb nut on the screw to stop it from moving.

Yep. Any nut with the right thread pattern will do.

Uuummmm it can't. If the screw is still present then it had to be installed with the nut missing, it would be a kin to a miracle for the screw to come out then the nut remove itself from the screw and the screw fall back into the threaded hole without the nut.....yep a miracle ! ! ! ! Probably just got over looked when it was replaced or something, I'm guessing you haven't had it long.

Just take the screw down to an ACE hardware and match the metric threads, you can even go for stainless steel.
