Very annoying clutch noise...
So then my clutch starts to make this weird squeeking noise when I step on it to shift.
The clutch itself is fine, it grabs very nicely n all, my clutch was replaced by a factory unit 45-50k miles ago.
Sometimes it'll make the noise and sometimes it won't, and sometimes the squeeking noise sounds sharper than at other times. And then sometimes almost to the point where it sounds like it's slightly grinding or something.
My cluch/brake fluid is full and I'm thinking I should just flush and refill the whole damn thing?? Lil help here?
Thanks.

If it is indeed the throwout bearing, how much would it cost to replace it?
Also, I noticed that when I shift faster (not harder) from 3rd-4th-5th gear it won't make that squeeking noise........
Very, very annoying.....

don't race, don't need to
I know this sounds wierd, but is it just the pedal shaft bushing? I mean inside the car, where the clutch pedal mounts to the firewall? Mine was doing that, just like a little mouse. Triflow to the rescue...

Well I can feel the squeek when I hold down the clutch, don't know if that's what you mean.
Or do you mean the actual clutch shaft thingy, if that's the case then I don't think so, sounds more internal.....
Thanks for the reply tho.

TO brng is ~$80 Mazda-motorsports to ~$120 dealer.
If you've got 50K miles on that clutch you might as well replace it since it's going to be out to get at the TO brng.

Thanks a lot guys.......
Just for my info, how much would dealer charge to replace the throwout bearing?
es - I think my clutch is fine for now, stock clutch should last up to 80k-100k if I don't abuse it, which I don't. Thanks for the pricing BTW.

No prob.
The dealers going to tell you to replace the disc! The fact is pulling the gearbox is a lot of labor & you're better off just replacing the reagular wear items while your in there... The disc is only $~130 ($90ish through Mazda-comp/Mazda motorsports)
You'll spend more then that in labor just pulling the gearbox again!
If it's wet you'll have to replace the rear main oil seal to. That's a pain because it's behind the flywheel...
