Question verdict: simple sequential system ?

For those of you running the simplified version of the stock sequential system, how is it working? do you recommend doing this (why)/ (why not)? did you have any problems along the way? I am trying to find out peoples perspective and issues (if any) that occured before I go ahead and do the simple sequential. Thanks

I just got done doing this... I am please on the results so far...My idle is almost flawless now(have to reset my PFC again)...I am still testing things though so I don't have a lot of experience with it yet...I got rid of the double throttle, EGR Split Air, ACV, Thermowax crap...It tidies up some things a little but not that much...It is easier however to see what's wrong with things...It took me about 4 days (had to fix broken solinoids, OM lines--took them out, stripped turbo inlet stud hole, cleaned a lot of parts)...It was a lot more work than I was expecting!

I've had a simplified sequential setup for almost 3 years on my black FD. It idles like it's race-ported (not exaggerating), which is sexy imo. But this mostly has to do with the 4 850 injectors. Very smooth transition, no problems with vac leaks or turbos, sick low-end and high-end and making 365 whp on this setup. Does certainly make things easier.

simplification made reliable!

https://www.rx7club.com/group-buy-center-69/gb-custom-solenoid-replacement-447238/

If you check this link out, you'll see that Rob just worked this whole thing out with replacement and reliable solenoids. He will send you everything you need to simplify the system with the new solenoids which should be nuke proof, and not sit under the UIM.

There is also a simplification scheme on rob robinette's site.

I've ordered my set and cant wait to get started, although it will have to wait till I fix my oil pan deluge, and then the coil I've burnt, and the 99 twins I expect to buy. This car if givimg me gray hairs, but I love it.

robinette's site sounds like a good idea as far as simplifing things, I have a few questions though. What do you do with the solenoids you unplug to keep the car from giving up ECL's. After removing stuff what do you end up having to block off? seems easy if you can make it work right with the ECU and no check lights.

no one else has experience with the simplified sequential setup? I would really like to get some more feedback on this subject.

Most people put resistors in the connectors to avoid CEL's. I didn't though and never got a CEL on the stock ECU. I have a PFC now so I don't have to worry about it anyway. If you look on a website like RX-7 store or Rotary Performance, they sell the B.O.P. kits and tell you exactly what is included. Look here also
