vented hood

Hi,

Has anyone tried removing the rubber strip from under the stock hood, the piece that sits under the hood just in front of the windshield? noticed any reduction in underhood temperatures? The car is not driven in the rain if this is a concern.

Thanks,

Your venting effect will actuall be backwards, in other words, air will be sucked into the engine bay through there. Still good as it will provide cooler air into the engine bay.

Please explain how the air will be sucked in the engine compartment at the base of the winshield instead of sucking air out.

I've done it...doesn't make much of a difference if any at all with temps. Driven in hard rain and it doesn't matter get into the engine bay.

Pressure differences at hood and winshield. Take it off. Tape a small string to the edge of the hood by the opening, and drive on the highway.
