thanks

thanks! I'm getting low boost on 2nd turbo after installing my reman, think I may have reversed something (maybe boost and precontrol solenoid electrical connectors, anyone know the syptoms for that? I had the car at gingerman for a treack day and pulls like an animal on the first turbo at 11psi, but then fades to 6 after 4500 rpm in 3rd or 2 psi after 4500 in 4th on the second. If anyone has any ideas let me know. in the meantime I'm reading!

I had the same problem and it was a vacuum line problem. I never figured out exactly which line(s) unfortunately. I had removed the UIM to fix another problem a year or so ago. However, upon reinstall, I had the exact symtoms you are describing. I just removed the UIM, recheck my work, verified the vacuum line routing and reinstalled everything. After that, boost was fine. I suspect it was one of the vacuum lines on the firewall side of the UIM, but I don't know for sure.

Good luck.

hi tom. i had the same problem, it was a cracked check valve (one way valve) on a vacuum line that goes to the vaccum box that sits directly behind the alternator, and directly infront of the uim. it is a black box with 2 nipples on one side.

i called pettit, and described my problem, the nice mechanic told me exaclty where to look...sure enough, that was the problem. i say that, because it must be a common thing.

good luck, raj
