Angry vandalism: estimate on how bad

feeling bummed, just woke up to find some vandals trashed my car >:o

the windshield sucks, but thats easy replace, im more bummed that the morons missed and hit the roof where it meets the windshield, how bad is this? would i be able to pull the ceiling board and just bang it out or would it call for more drastic measures?

Haters

My worst nightmare is to have my car totaled out by some punk kids. F'ers

As far as the damage. You'll have to set under the headliner and get it as close as you can with some body hammers, and then.. EEgad a "little" bit of body filler, prime and paint.

I would almost say the whole roof skin should be replaced.

Using any body filler is the 'easy' way out. And yes, I've used it myself on many occasions simply because I don't have the skills or equipment to drill and pull and weld to make a filler-free repair.

I too hope you find the perps and....well....kill them.

thanks guys for the replies, thanks for letting me vent and sharing your stories, im more saddened than angry, but after research and Aeka GSR's reply, i looked into the roof panel being replaced and i guess almost anything on the car is replaceable and that has given me a sense of relief

Yes, assuming you have comprehensive coverage. Is it insured?

You should be talking to a bodyshop for real advice and quotations. I would get both options: Repairing the damage by filler and also what it would take to replace the roof skin. You are probably better off with an aftermarket windshield, it will be cheaper than OEM. All they lack is the little mazda logo anyways. Also, I think it's weird that someone would just damage your car like that without you angering someone or doing something yourself (I could be wrong, this is just as assumption). Wish you best of luck.

Did all that vandalism happen the same day? Or is that neighborhood known for that kind of stuff? Id be really reluctant to leave my car there from now on. Good luck with repairing it, I can't beleive that anyone who do something like that. They're probably lucky you werent around to catch them in the act.
