value of R1 black suede seats?

I hope this post doesn't violate any rules. I'm considering selling a set of immaculate black suede R1 seats. I say considering because I'm not sure I want to get rid of them, certainly not in any hurry to do so, but as it is, they are just taking up space.

I originally bought these several years back with the intention of swapping them into my FC. I mocked up some simple brackets with the help of a friend, installed the passenger seat and was quite unhappy with the result. The seat had a funky tilt and sat far too high. It's a shame because I really wanted to use them.

Anyway, I'd like to know what you folks think the value on a set of perfect black suedes are. I know that these are pretty rare, especially in good shape.

Thanks in advance.

Search in the classifieds to get a sense of the value. If they are truly mint, $600 or so I would guess. Shipping seats is a pain though so you may need to find a local buyer or sell for less.

Bumping this 10+ year old thread as these are still sitting in my garage. What's the value for a set of these nowadays?

Post#2. Homework is your’s. Decide on a price, whether your willing to ship them, take some pictures and put it up in the Parts For Sale section….or not and store them for another 10 years.

Much of the value is in the seat belt guides and the rails. Easier to store just those bits.

I seem to be steadily accumulating the "velour-like" seats recently for no more then C$250 a pair. Condition variable, with or wihout rails or seat belt guides.

Best to hold onto them a while longer.

They are very nice seats. Just folk like to "upgrade" to after market seats.

For instance I will be moving my perfectly good 99 RBSE seats to storage shortly.

Finally finished wedging these Recaro SR class seats in. Bride make an aftermarket rail/base that fits perfectly (even if the seat doesn't.)

Now, what to do with the 2.5 yards of Recaro Red fabric I bought?
