Any opinions on this? It seems the cloth seats from the base model are hard to wear out, whereas the R1s tend to be less durable. Wear issues aside, which do you think look better? Is there that much of a difference between the two?

I have had no problems with my R1 black psudo-suede seats. I love them. Everbody thinks they are suede too! I am going to get my center console lined with leather to get the "smell" of leather in the interior. Also the seats are real easy to clean.........

The R1 seats that I have seen in person (2 so far) are in dark grey and not actually black. I like the black base seats bc it matches the black interior better, IMHO. The base seats are cover with a nylon material, not your typical fuzzy clothes.
I think both are pretty nice and wear resistant compared to the leather. The R1 seats are stickier during turns though. The first time I saw an R1 seat, I thought it was a base seat with a seat cover. It's more functional but doesn't look as nice to me as the base seat.
