When getting a new vaccum hose kit to change out all of the old ones do you have to pull the motor to do this or can you do it with the engine still in the car? thanks!

 

You can change the lines with the engine in the car. No need to pull the motor.

 

what should you take off to make the install easier?

 

I removed:
airbox, intake pipes, throttle elbow, throttle body, UIM, Air Pump. Also take off the ACV, but make sure you have a replacment gasket. Then with the UIM off, you'll want to pull the ignition coils and the solenoid rack to get to the lines near the fuel injectors.

While in there, consider doing:
- FPD
- Injector cleaning
- Rear coolant hose from block to tb
- miata thermoswitch
