Hello!

I bought a silicone elbow, 45 degree I think, and cut each end to length.

i got this type of stuff at a local store

It seems decent enough but i had the hose blow off twice now. I tightened the everloving p!ss out of the c-clamps though and its been good since. Looks kind of hot-roddy. That could be a plus or a minus depending on what youre going for.

I sourced the top hose from Baker Precision b/c they had nice long 8" "legs" but now it looks like they are only 4": HPS Silicone 90 degree hoses

I sourced the return hose from Pegasus:

I used the joiners where needed: https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/gr...pID=COOLNIPPLE

Does the rotary works radiator have some type of diverter in the middle of the top tank to force coolant through the core?

Thanks,
James

It would have to. There would no cooling done without one.

Thanks, I thought the same thing. The only reason I asked is because usually you can see where the diverter is welded in and when I was looking at the rotary works and a few other v mount radiators they looked totally smooth on top.

I have been trying to decide if I want to modify the fluidyne radiator that I have or just buy one of the cheap ebay ones.

My vote is to mod the Fluidyne if you can--that's what I did few years ago for my v mount; it was reasonably easy and it's worked great.

As to the OP's question: I was able to cut down the stock hoses which worked out perfect for my setup.

The flexibile hose worked perfectly. A bit pricey but worth it

I wanted to retain the OEM look as much as possible. I cut up several old hoses and taped them back together in an arrangement that would work. After that I went to auto zone and compared it with their wall of hoses until I found one that looked like it would work.

I'm not a fan of the flexible hoses. I've had them leak multiple times. You can buy a universal radiator hose kit that will have various pipes and elbows.

There are a few build threads where guys have used them with success.

They can work, but often they are not exactly the same size as stock and develop leaks over time. Getting the kits I suggested ends up for a cleaner install in my opinion.
