The HKS vmount is the ****. I've seen it in person on the Grenade D1 FD. It's about $2,200 and it utilizes your radiator, so you don't have to worry about it coming with one. It also allows you to keep ps, and ac. It moves your battery behind the intercooler though, which some people may not be found of, but it is a smaller 51R. It also has short piping, and piping all the way to the tb. Not like others, that utilize the greddy elbow. Ramy I can't wait to see yours when you're done. I might just buy yours. It won't be until next year anyway. I hope yours is done by then.

 

Jeff, the HKS unit is nice, but it's NOT all that. It's actually one of the earlier designs on the market (not that there are many to begin with). There are elements of the design that make it far from ideal IMO. I personally feel the RE kit is very nice, but the Knightsports one takes the cake as being the best I've seen to date.

Also keep in mind that allowing you to keep your current radiator isn't such a hot idea (the only advantage is one of finances). V-mounts such as the KS (and the former RotaryExtreme V-mount) utilize a multi-pass radiator, which is essential to getting those water temps so low

How big is the core on that thing?

$2200 is not all that bad and is comparable with the RE kit, which is $2500 (and comes with a Koyo, though has no ducting).

 

Any way to Vmount when there is a 3 rotor in the car?

The only 3-rotor I've seen w/ a V-mount to date is the RE Greddy Super 7 FD. The issue is clearance...enough space to fit it in the front. You HAVE to move the motor back in order to have that kind of space....and moving the motor back entails cutting the firewall or tranny tunnel, which entails chopping the PPF and having a custom driveshaft made... I think you're starting to get the picture

Have a picture of that one Ramy? I understand that clearance is the issue, but I have a good team who thinks we can get one made....I am just not so sure.

why is the hks not great? the only thing i see wrong with it is using the stock configuration radiator i.e. koyo. i think the rad needs modified to make it a better design but it has a nice splitter which is the only one with any substantial ducting.

That, and the battery location sucks, and I do like the intercooler, but it's not as good looking (my opinion) as the Knights sports, Revo-Tune, Odula, RE-A, and T1R v-mount kits. Also, it's an older design than those stated above. It's widely used in Japan at the moment, because you can retain your already high performance radiator, and it's about 700-1000 cheaper than the kits stated above. It was originally design to work with the TO4Z, but they made a kit for the single just for the hell of it, and I've seen it in person.
