Using an exhaust flange to extend an exhaust?

Just installed a new exhaust (number 7) and it sits about flush with the rear valence. It needs to go about another 1/2" further out so it does not melt the rear bumper/valence. Little worried about backfire too with it being that close to the rear bumper. So I did some research and was trying to figure out how I can extend this exhaust ( I have no idea who can cut, bend and weld titanium). I really didnt find anything, my solution I came up with is to put an exhaust flange inbewteen the midpipe and catback. Like such:

I would need to buy new bolts obviously, and I am assuming I would need to buy two exhaust gaskets? This should extend the exhaust which will then not melt the rear bumper and maybe help my problem with all the black reside all over my rear bumper. Anyone see a downside to this, I cant imagine it restricting the exhaust, since it is the same diameter hole?

I was actually looking for the same thing for my exhaust. If you find something Brian, please post it here.

Yes should work, grab longer bolts and use two gaskets and i see no reason why it wouldn't solve your problem. It would most certainly not make any exhaust restriction if it matches the pipes its being set between, if it doesn't then make it match. It would help you bumper situation but not eliminate it. Look into a shield for the bumper, I'm grabbing one ASAP.

Yes it works fine. I did exactly this several years ago (used a blank flange as a spacer) to extend my exhaust for correct fit up.

Use grade 8, M10+, or high grade alloy bolts of the correct size for best long term durability.
