urgent help needed (need to kill skyline)

okay sorry, but i'm really confused about this connection. i don't know what it is. it's a greyish color. i need to know what it does. i have a non-seq. turbo's. it's like a little up and to the right of the intakes. when i connect it like the thing inside a pulley spins. and when i drive with it i get a LOOOOOOOT of backfire. i'll try to look for a pic but can someone help me out?

but yeah cuz i'mma race a skyline tomorrow -.-

It's the air pump connector... I run with mine unplugged all the time. It's not needed if you have a midpipe.

That connector is for you air pump. If you are running no cats on your car then you can just disconnect the plug, but if you are running a cat instead of a mid pipe then I would suggest you leave it plugged in so that you don't clog your cat.

I ran without mine connected for about 1000 miles because the pump failed. I was going to replace the cat with a midpipe (done now) so never replaced the air pump. When I was done, the cat wasn't clogged yet. It takes a while still, just significantly shorter I think...

it's weird though because when i connect it i get a lot of misfires. and i just feel quicker acceleration.

shoudlnt' really feel a difference. its only on ina short RPM range.
