upgrades on rebuilt engine

Im currently having my engine rebuilt...Im just wondering if it would be a good idea to have bolt on parts added on while the engine is still apart...the upgrades are radiator, intercooler, air intake, down pipe, and a catback....please advise....thanks in advance..

you could also...Port the motor and the wastegate, and why not have some port matching in the exhaust manifold and such...but what do I know???

thanks, i forgot to list the street port...i was just concerned that it might not be good for the engine if it had all those bolt ons right away.....i was bacically thinking that it would just be very convenient for the technicians to install them.....

yes do it while it is out. Makes things much easier! The cat back is not necessary to do right away but really matters not either way. What do you mean "not be good for the engine"? Just don't rag on it and make sure you have the proper fuel upgrades for these things you are talking about. You will certainly need a new ecu, maybe upgrade the fuel pump, replace the fuel filter (if you have not already), and depending on what boost levels you want to push - injectors are nice and easy to install while the engine is out. At the least get the injectors cleaned before reinstalling them into the new engine.

You should consider the internal motor upgrades. Viton Oil O-rings, E-shaft check ***** replaced with .220" Webber carb jets, Thermo-pellet replaced with plug, Teflon/silicone inner coolant O-rings increased side clearance rotors.

Get the racing beat catalog, it explains in detail all of the above modifications.

Upgrading oil cooler/coolers is a good idea also.
