VA Unknown gray harness plug

I noticed today that I have a big fat gray engine harness that is not plugged in. It's attached by the alternator harness and has 2 wires to it: white/green & white/black. Anyone know where this plugs into, I don't see the male side anywhere.

It's the part of the alternator wire harness, the branch right below it.

Plug that in to the brown connector on the side of the alternator..... it's right below the 12mm nut for the power connection.

o damn didn't see that. I don't believe that was plugged in for that past month that I have been troubleshooting my car. Think that disables the alternator??

Um, yup. Pretty sure that would disable the alternator.

How could you have been 'troubleshooting your car' with random unplugged connectors flopping around?

Don't you have a multi-page thread in this section about your mysterious problems?

I just noticed that connector yesterday when I was putting everything back together...I must of been tired and not seen the brown connector on the alt.

I do have another thread on my mysterious problem, just started this one b/c I didnt want to confuse anyone reading it with an off topic. This shouldn't have affected my ongoing problem though. Hopefully I will get this damn motor started right.

Thanks for the help though
Cheers!
