Does anybody know where I can get a replacement heat shielf for the underside of my hood? Would it hurt to just remove the heat shield entirely?(would the paint on the hood get affected by the high temps?)

I have not run mine for the last 3 years and have no ill affects. I took it off cause it started to look like a rat was stealing parts to make a nest....I.E. falling apart, not litterally a rat

 

Yeah mine was junk and its been off for a year or so, no problems yet!
