Unclogging heater core

what is the best way to do it. I see them use an air compressor at the shop and work the **** out, but is this the best way?

does this have anything to do with the a/c also?

Mine used to be cold and then a couple days later I got in and turned it on and all this **** from the tree started flying in through my vents and the air was hot. Is it clogged or something?

what can I do?
