lol thanks guys

it really looks good in daylight..ill take a daylight pic tomorrow since tomorrow is sunny..

i dont know if the guy who did this would want me to give his name out here..i dont think he does this anymore publicly..although he would make tons of $$ doing this cause he is simply amazing, i dont think he would do it otherwise he would put his work out there..plus i dont think he'll be too happy with all the PM's he'll get since i posted this pic..ill ask him though unless he chimes in this thread..

if anything, i want him to do some more of my engine bay parts before calls it a quits for good or does anyone elses.. LOL

ive been sanding and polishing my uim while its been in the car. i did a little everyday for a month or so to get an overall smooth shiny finish. now every time i open the hood, i do a once over to all the polished aluminum components. mothers aluminum polish is by far the best, quickest, and most effective way of doing the final polishing and touch ups. you also want to use soft 100% cotton towels. ive been contemplating using zoop seal to keep the pieces from dulling but its a bit spendy.

Polishing the UIM actually looks pretty good but I didn't do that with mine.
I love the way mine looks overall

My UIM, turbo, pipe off the turbo is all hand polished.

I got calusis form doing that stuff. But I got some new tools now and a buffing wheel that goes on a grinder. I also got a small die grinder to finish the alternator with. Name: P5150002.jpg

I have a suggestion which may make the job quicker; knock down the high spots with your choice of metal files, then use a sanding screen (I think typical grit is 80-100). at this point you should see the light at the end of the tunnel.

a couple of wet sandings 240-2000. then grab some metal polish.

Though I havent done my uim yet, I did do one of kevin wyum's air pump friendly cast aluminum intercooler pipes.
