too bad the car isnt painted differently and the wheels are there. if that was done then the car would have more buyers but not for that price...

Hey, this is just 5 miles from me!

We noticed he had added the black paint last week.

He owns a CellPhone/Car audio/tint shop in Zephyrhills. Also owns a transmission repair shop.

The car was always nice looking, even with the wheels, when it was just vintage red. He had a big decal on the back window advertising his shop.

I couldn't believe the paint job!

But, if you know the right peeps, you can restore it to Vintage Red for $1,500.

He won't sell it on eBay 'cause he won't get his reserve price!

Little dowes he know that it was worth more with original paint!

Let me know if anyone is seriously interested. I'm just down the road and can go check it out!

10k-14k is kinda low... maybe around 16k. but thats only if he looses the paint and wheels.

Did anyone read the description? He dynamatted the whole car. That stuff isn't exactly light. With the stereo and speakers that thing probably weighs about 300 lbs more than the pudgiest rx7.

The car itself seems to be solid. If you don't like the paint and wheels you replace them. If not then you don't have to buy it. He's asking price is what he hopes to get. Probally won't though. But overall seem to be a good car.

this project, especially the paint, probably looked good when it was written on the sheet of paper for future mods. now it just looks .......odd. Maybe with the R1/R2 spoiler? she would look real slick in all black...

I showed him this thread.. he responded with this:

30 years in the business and i know cars. the young guys who want a 345 hp car that is rare and not beat would just compliment it and face the money issue as part of youth. Others would just dog the car and be a sad wannabe.

sorry you wasted your time

i think he's insane. He won't get his price. Do you know whatI could buy for $25K? Not a funny car like that. A full car dynomat normally adds about 250 pounds, and the fiberglass box/sud/changer and amps as well as the wheels, probably add another 300 pounds. And that paint! Realistically, he'll get $14k for it....if he's lucky.

Also, if he REALLY knows cars, how hard would it be to put that exhaust on and not sell it with a problem? Either he's trying to cover up bad turbos/a cracked manifold/or no boost whatsoever or he's really lazy. e who buys this car is walking into a world of hurt. There's something really wrong with it, or he would take the hour or so and put the exhaust on. THEY'RE bolt on for crying out loud!

Also, out of experience, it is against ebay regulations to transfer the paypal fee (2.5% + something) to the buyer. They canceled my auction for that, I 'm surprised they didn't cancel his. Someone should let him know that.....

check it out, I think we influenced him:

"Questions have been emailed and I have the answers. You can delete the exhaust system that I have to go with the car if you want to keep it stock. The muffler has pinholes from lack of use. I will credit $900.00 for the system and deduct it from the selling price. The factory tires and wheels can be used to replace the Falkens and Chrome 17 Mystics on the car with a credit of $1000.00. Nothing else comes off easily so that is all I can do. SOOOOOO, if you win the auction or use Buy it now, you will know the credits up front. They are not negotiable. Once again, Thanks for looking and good luck bidding"
