Question type r VS type s

What are the differences between a 1993 type r and the 1993 type s 3rd gen rx7?

At least here in the states, there was no such thing as a '93 Type R or Type S.

There were three models available:

Base
Touring
R1

As diablone said, that is not entirely true. Mazda eventually introduced a Type R in the later years:

However, in '93, that model didn't exist.
