Two Questions for you guys..
Before I purchase my FD I am having the guy run a compression test to make sure the engine is ok. Now when he gets this done what should I expect to be looking at? Will they give him a form of what his compression is and if so what kind of numbers should I be expecting for a good engine (68k miles)??
Also if I get this car, I plan on replacing the hosings on the car first. How much would it be for some silicone hosing? I want to do it myself and I'm not really sure on how much hosing is required. What would be the diffuculty of this project? Would I have to remove anything from the car to replace the hoses or can I manage it without taking stuff off? I think that covers it, thanks everyone that helps.

also get a boost gauge (or borrow one or somethin) and hook it up (unless it allready has one) and check the boost pattern, im not sure what it is so i wont give you false info(im sure you could easily find it out on this forum), but im pretty sure the vaccume at idle should be around 18-20

First thing is to see what the boost pattern is, what RPM range does the boost fall off, and what the vacuum readings are... That info will give you a good place to start looking for the potential problem.

Well, the car does not have a boost gauge so I can be sure. I just know from driving other rx7s with proper boost is that I can feel the 1st turbo spool up when it should then when the 2nd turbo is supposed to come in it just isn't there. Does that help?

Boost gauge should be the very first thing you get. It's really a must on these cars with the amount of boost related problems that happen or can happen.

For some reason I purchased a EGT gauge, which is basically useless for me. If I had it over to do again, I would have a fuel pressure gauge instead right now.

Is your REX stock? otherwise you need a/f or EGT gauge to measure how rich and lean you're running. COrrect me on this

If you are tuning without a wideband, you may as well be driving with a blindfold as well...
