1! I got the apexi intake a long while ago, and Im wondering who has it, and has managed to make a SMIC work with it? I'd love to see pics! of what u came up with, and info on what SMIC's will fit with it. I was originally planning on going with a front mount, but after learning how much I love road racing, I Cant really do that .

Also, when installing the intake, you take the big plasic piece off in front of the intercooler. Is the air flow, flow better with that piece on? did mazda design it to flow air? or is it just to make the engine bay look clean. I know they tried to save as much weight as possible, so is there a reason for it?

sorry no pics of intake w/ smic. but i'm assuming your talking about the piece coming off the intercooler going to the intake. it def flows air, but when using an open air intake most guys take it off. i took mine off and pop riveted a piece of plastic on top of the hole on the intercooler. i've heard that keeping this piece on will cause the intercooler to suck hot air from the engine bay. nick
