Twin Turbo Upgrade vs Single

OK...In my search for the optimal Road/Track Race application I've been researching what kind of Turbo Upgrades to get.

From what I've learned up to this point, it seems that the best way to go for Single turbo would be HKS T04S or Apexi Rx6 Isamu.

However...I have seen Discriptions for upgraded twin turbo applications, and I'm wondering what would be the better set up --not taking cost into consideration.

I really don't know much about twin turbo upgrades...so if anyone has any info on configerations or pros and cons for parallel or sequential set ups, I would greatly appeciate their insight

I think the biggest problem with the parallel twin turbo setup would be space under the hood. Sequential would be nice, but I dont' know if it would have enough "Punch" for you. I would go for the single turbo that would boost quickly, and keep max power through out the midrange. Both the turbine's you have mentioned should do the trick.

From what I've been reading here on the forum, most if not all TT upgrades have proven to be unreliable as hell. Broken shafts, leaking units, etc., etc. Pettit has told me they've never had a return on theirs, but then again it could be a sales pitch.

I am a big fan of single turbo because of the simplicity of design. The twin turbo's are just too hard to mess with. I can have a single turbo w/ manifold off of a car in less than 30 minutes. Try that with the stock turbos!

The problem with upgraded twins is the compressor wheels that companies use is too heavy for the shafts and end up breaking them. Plus most of these companies don't spend anytime properly balancing everything. From what I understand, Pettit just ports their turbos which won't net you any "real" hp - maybe 10 hp at the most - they have no dyno sheets. Upgraded twins shouldn't be run sequentially since the blast of power at transition on the secondary turbo is hard on the shafts. If run parallel, the power curve is much more linear and smooth, putting much less pressure on the shafts. BNRSupercars has upgrades where he spends time balancing all the parts and machines his hybrid (more aggressive) compressor wheels down to about as light as the stock compressor wheel. One person has dynoed at 386 rwhp on these twins with streetport and bolt-ons w/out clipped turbine wheels which add 10-15 more rwhp. Single is the best route, but if you want power for much less $$ then email Bryan at BNRSupercars.com

thanks, but I was looking for the BEST set up possible...that means I'm willing to spend any amount of money, so if theoretically twins can be better than single, I want em
