Tweakit Racing Idler Pulley - Belt?

The idler puller kit from tweak it racing no longer include the belt in the kit. I was wondering what size/model BELT do I need to order to function with this kit. Note: I have the twin turbo idler pulley kit. OEM 1993 RX7 everything else.

Thanks!

i have the same idler pully but but mine wouldnt work with my greddy waterpump pully and my smaller crank pully. i took a piece of string and wrapped it around everything and took it into advanced auto. they set me up with the right belt

if you need the belt for the tt setup i could sell you the one i got with my pully. i still have it. $20

He said they don't supply the belt due to the many different size belt possibilities. When I wrote back, I asked for the suggested size as a starting point. no reply as of yet.

Put the adjuster in the middle of its range and use a piece of string or an old belt to measure. Take it to a parts store and ask to find a belt that matches.

I recently installed this on my 93 with all stock pulley's as well.
I ended up going with a 5050470, made by Dayco. 5 rib belt with a ~47 inch circumference
The instructions recommended a 5050475, which is almost a 48 inch belt and wouldn't snug
up on my 93'
If you have the instructions that the kit ships with it lists what belts you should get
depending on your setup, under the "this kit includes" section.
If you did not get the instructions, PM me and I can e-mail them too you.

Quoting this as correct.

I could only find a 48" belt and with the adjuster at its outer extremities, it is a little too loose for my liking (altho it doesn't seem to squeal so maybe it is okay)

New belts to tend to stretch a bit over time. And they expand a little with heat too. If there's no adjustment left, I'd go with the smaller size.

Belt size for stock pulleys is a 475K5, here is a link to the instructions:

http://www.tweakit.com/idler/idlerinst.pdf

Common belts sizes are available in 5 rib from 46.5" through 49" in half inch increments, so there should be no reason to use a belt that does not fit snug. One secret we have found is to remove the top bolt and rotate the idler down, install the belt, then rotate it back up and install the bolt. Then snug it up with the alternator adjustment.

Hope this helps,
Dan

i have chadwick's idler pulley.. as do a lot of others on the forum. I highly recommend it.

1) quality of the kit is really high
2) the item sits a bit lower than pineapple's (which I like)
3) shipping was fast
4) chadwick was responsive to my emails and order

Edit: that garfinkle pulley looks very big and appears to be right in the way of a single turbo. Chadwick's sits at the 7o'clock position on the Water pump pulley and is tucked out of the way nicely.

I just received/installed my kit, quality seems great!
I'm running all stock pulleys as well and I also had to go with the 47 inch belt. The one in the instructions would not "snug up" just as you said.

I just realized what the problem is.... I took a look at the instructions again and the belts listed for "Replacement for stock pulleys" are actually the belts for "Replacment for under drive pulleys" and vice versa. So, the correct belts should be:

Replacement for stock pulleys: 470K5, 5050470, 5PVK1195
Replacement for under drive pulleys: 475K5, 5050470, 5PVK1195

I don't believe he is currently selling them..... if you can't get one, look into the Pineapple Racing idler pulley, a suitable alternative.

I have one, but it required a bit of clearancing on the bottom of the thermostat housing area.
Mine is a few years old, so maybe the newer ones have a little better fitment. Other than that it has been fine.
