Ignition prolonged beep?

After I re-installed my fuel injectors (I got them cleaned), I did the fuel leakage test via the work shop manual (pg. F-106):

-connect datalink connector terminals F/P and GND with wire
-Turn ignition switch on and check for leaks

So, with the key in the on position, it makes the beeping like any car does with a door open (ie. *beep-beep-beep-beep... beep-beep-beep-beep... beep-beep-beep-beep*) and then after a short while the beeping turns into one constant *beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep*.

Is that just from it being left in the on position a prolonged period of time while the F/P and GND terminals are jumped together? Is it from something else? Is it bad? Does it affect anything else or flip any switch to anything that would shut off fuel pressure or the fuel pump?

Car is not starting back up and I am currently in the process of doing the full de-flooding procedure (w/ the Auto Tranny Fluid) since it's been sitting for about a month...

Hope this made sense. Thanks in advance.

Your body module (the small black F100/F101 labelled box under the dash) might have some sort of fault, or be on its last legs. Thats what emits the beep-beep, beep-beep, beep-beep noise during ignition key operation. My belief is that it has a very small piezo like speaker inside it. Mine sometimes goes (ahem) "beep-beep, beep-beEEEEEp, beep-buuuueeep!!" like a wonky fire truck siren or something. I would swap the module out if it annoys you (remembering that F100 is manual, F101 is automatic or vice versa- they are not interchangeable.) Whatever number is printed on that module, must match the new one. The plugs do not even fit otherwise. That module also controls power window operation too.

check your coolant, it will do the beep-beep beep-beep for about 15 seconds or so and go steady if coolant is low and not hitting the coolant level sensor, this is the same sensor that will light up in your gauge cluster in the engine temp area, if the coolant checks out, check the wire for breaks or shorts, cause even if there isnt actually a problem that sensor may save your engine one day.

Thanks for the response guys.

I was able to fire up the car using the de-flooding technique. The beeping never came back. Before firing it up, I instinctively added coolant. It could be that the coolant was low and didn't hit the sensor.
