What you said is no exactly true. Amps make the world go round. If you are dropping enough current through bad connections (high resistance) Things will light up, make clicking noises etc. They may or may not operate as there supose too. They will also be very intemitant too. I have this problem and I will be fixing it this weekend. I suspect a Bad Relay which is normally closed, except when the the alarm system opens it (CPU No.2). I imagine the contacts are eroded. I plan to bypass this relay and go from there. I have an automatic so my results may be helpful to the most impacted people with this problem. Expect me to post results soon. Oh the relay is called the starter cut realy A2-03 in the schmatics. My next suspected item would be the Park/neutral switch. Last stop connection at the solenoid on the starter which I have cleaned and played with the most.
