Question Turbos Leaking Oil????

I have been posting several threads about oil previously and I think I have found out my area of leak, I believe my 2nd turbo is leaking oil little at a time. I think I heard this is pretty common amongst the stock turbos. Does this mean I need a rebuild? Or is there some way to get it fixed with out it being $$$$$ My car has 66k miles on it so far and boost and turbos are all functioning normal as of now.

Well if it's leaking oil to the turbo then the turbo is not getting sufficient amounts of it. I don't think running it hard would be a good idea. Could cause it to fail prematurely. My guess.

Someone told me that the seals could be leaking or the return line for the oil on the 2nd turbo could be leaking. There is oil going to, its just not returning it back to the oil line. I don't think its leaking like crazy since there are no drips or puddles under the car. Any ideas?

Hey Swat.

When the turbos get some age, the seals and ring grooves inside the turbos get worn or just get old. It is pretty natural to see stock twins start smoking at 60K. What you are seeing is either oil in the intercooler pipes, or just a tad of oil getting through the piston ring seal bore in the turbo, therefore leaking oil into the exhaust. If you need help or have any questions, feel free to call or email.
