turbos blowing oil, is it bad?

ok, i know this means i will have to change my turbos but for now, they are still boosting very well.

Is there any problem in keeping them as long as they are not blown, even if they blow oil?

I mean except the fact that there is oil everywhere in the engine bay, is it bad for the engine?

I suppose not but just want to make sure.

thanks a lot

Where exactly is the oil coming from? Oil supply or return lines?

It sounds like the feed or drain line is leaking oil if it's in the engine bay.

Is oil near the intake manifold and top side of the engine bay?
Is oil near the bottom of the engine bay?

1) It's dirty and a pain to clean in the engine bay if not cleaned immediately.
2) It's a fire hazard.
3) It's slowly draining out oil from the oil system.

It's not good to drive around with leaking oil in the engine bay since it may land on a hot spot (exhaust or what not) and cause a fire.

I've had the oil feed leak into the engine bay and the drops that go on to the exhaust manifold turned into a little engine bay fire. Luckily, I had a fire exstinguisher with me.

ok, maybe, i wasn't clear, sorry.

The oil is in the engine bay because i removed the intercooler and intercooler piping. The only place where there is a little bit of oil is close to the BOV. Otherwise, there is oil where i droped it.

All the oil is in the piping and in the intercooler.

sorry for not being clear.

What i wanted to know is will it jam something or will it result only in extra lubrication?

thanks a lot

Well, that's still not good, eventually your turbos will most likely break down and still possibly cause a fire. I wouldn't use any boost if I was you. As for lubrication-yeah your lubricating your exhaust system-haha. Get it fixed!

What is your oil consumption? My turbos leak in to the Intake also an I am using 1qt/350mi - Jim at MARIAH told me It was ok to just live with them that way as long as they are BOOSTING OK and I did not mind the Cost of all that OIL.

how's a leaking turbo gonna cause an engine fire? Do you realize most turbo cars out there leak oil? The only thing oil dripping on a hot manifold will cause is smoke and a stink.

The main disadvantage of having all the oil blowing into your intake is it'll gunk up the throttle plates and work its way into the vacuum system. Depending on how much oil is blowing this could be not a big deal. Try running half a quart low, this is supposed to help.

well i change my oil so often that i don't even see a difference in oil consumption.

Also, i think the guy put a little too much oil in it, could that be a problem?

In fact, i never had to put oil between change in the car, it seems to never miss any. I find it kind of strange but...
