Please let me stress again that the whoosh coming from my engine compartment is pretty loud. When I step on the gas and the car is spooling pretty efficiently, it sounds like a vacuum cleaner is running under the hood. When I let off the gas, the sound (whhhhhhoooooooooosssssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhh) goes away. Bad, normal, failing turbos, vacuum leak?

Thanks

Normal. It's just not the familiar normally-aspirated piston-engine sound we're all accostomed to. Sounds like a jet driving in a tunnel also.

Yep, a jet flying through a tunnel pretty much describes my sound.

Turns out my Y-pipe coupling was jacked up causing mad boost leak. When I replace it I'll [hopefully] be at full boost and feal my cars full-fed wrath. A little late, but you know, it helps for someone doing their searching.
