Question Turbo Timer Question

I just oreder a GReddy turbo timer and i plan installing it along with a Trust Airnix intake system, these are gonna be the first things i do to my car but i have a few questions. For the turbo timer, how long hsould i set the engine to run, i always assumed like a min or 2 but i just wanted to make sure, and also I am a novice when it comes to installing car parts, how hard is to install a downpipe and What is the diff between the M2 and the HKS

turbo timer: 30 sec doesn't really do anything, I have mine set for 1 minute, sometimes a little longer.

intake: you might have trouble installing it but its not hard, you just have to learn where everything is and what to take off.

dp: I would let someone else install it incase you need new studs. M2 is stainless stell, HKS is mild steel (will rust). M2 is one of the easiest to install from what I've heard.

For a turbo timer I usually let the car run dependant on how long I was driving it, and the driving conditions. If I am just driving around town lightly on a relatively cool day I will just sit in the car for a minute or so before I turn it off. If it is warmer out maybe a couple of minutes. If I have been driving on the freeway for a long period of time and the car is very warm I might let it run for five minutes.. that might even be overkill, I never run it for more than five minutes though.

A downpipe install is not what I would call 'hard', but that is relative to my experience. For a novice a downpipe can be quite difficult I think, maybe having someone else help you who has done it could be a good idea.. build up your confidence for you next mod. There are two differences between the M2 and HKS pipes that I know of. First is their metal construction, the M2 is stainless steel and the HKS is mild steel. Stainless steel will outlast your car where mild steel has the ability to rust quickly depending on the conditions where you drive. If you are in a place like CA and not near the ocean mild steel is not such a big deal, but seeing as you are in NY stainless steel would be a very worthwhile investment.. personally I have all stainless steel on my car for the exhaust components. The second difference is the shape of the pipe where it mounts to the turbos, the HKS pipe is sort of odd shaped and requires you to not only remove the nuts holding on the stock pipe, but also the threaded studs. With the M2 you can leave the studs in place and just remove the nuts and bolt it right up.. much less of a headache.. someone correct me if I am wrong but that is my understanding. HTH..
