turbo timer?

hello everyone, and i appreciate and thank you all beforehand because you are so helpful. i have just purchased a bb touring that is 100% stock. can you guys give me a couple tips on what reliability/power mods i can put and whats the best kind (kind of exhaust or intake). also, are turbo timers really necessary or are they just there to take up space? thanks again for the feedback!

Congrats on buying your car. I suggest that you do lots of reading before doing ANYTHING to your car.

Turbo timers are a waste of time space and money. Don't buy one. Just drive your car easy for the last 2-3 minutes before you get to your destination, and then turn the car off when you arrive.

Turbo timers are toys for little boys that don't know any better.

As long as you don't go from 60-0 in 1 sec and shut your car off, turbo timers are useless. I usually just take it easy the last few minutes of my drive and wait like 10-20 seconds and shut the car off. Anything else is waisting gas.

hey i like mine

actually the only thing I use the turbo timer for is controlling my fans....
ill turn the car off...turn it to on, turn the turbo timer on, turn my fans on, set the timer to 10 minutes and leave the car....

but most guys dont see to have that problem with the fans...

other then that, and the ability to make quick stops and leave your car running and locked...they are useless....

by a boost gauge and a digital water temp gauge...

Good idea.

I hardly ever use mine. I take it easy for a few minutes before I shut it down. This is to bring the turbos back down as close as possible to engine temp.

The only time I use mine is on the hot days when the water temp is higher from sitting in traffic. I turn my fans on high and let the car sit for about a minute. This brings the temps down form 99C to about 88. Heat soak isn't as bad then.
