Turbo rebuild

Hey guys, I'm in the middle of replacing all my vacum hoses and I decided to rebuild the turbos as well. There is an oil leak through both, I'm running standard twins. I was reading a thread in FAQ about the rebuild where the rebuild kits were available. However I'm in Ireland here and I dont know of a supplier. Tried the main dealer but that as usual is a no no and even if it was a yes yes price would prob still be no no. Anyone have any ideas of uk suppliers for the rebuild kits it'd be a big help.
Thanks.

Very few places carry rebuild parts for the HT12's. You can try this place:

http://www.gpopshop.com/hitachikits.html

I would imagine they will ship overseas, but you'll have to ask them. The parts are hard to come by these days which is one reason why Bryan at BNR doesn't do stock rebuilds anymore.

Personally, I'd look into 99 twins or BNRs if it's within you budget. Rebuilds tend to have a pretty limited lifespan......

+1 (id recommend the BNR's over the 99 twins because I think they are just a waste of money) or think about going single which solves a lot of the FD's problems.

Thanks.
Are they leaking oil externally or are you getting oil smoke from the muffler? You could just need new oil return gaskets if it is leaking and smoking locally at the turbos.

Im also looking into rebuilt turbo, but like most people say it cost a lot to do it right and lifespan seem to be limited, so i looking into BnR.

The turbos are blowing out through the muffler. I think I'll just try the rebuild for now, I dont use the car for a daily or for track so its only for sundays!! Besides I do a bit of rallying here as well so the budget for everything else is tight.
Thanks Mahjik for the info on Gpop I was in touch with them yesterday and they have a kit, can deliver for not much extra, just trying to find out at the minute what the duty is here on imported parts. I got caught out before taking stuff in from NZ. I'll let you know how I get on.

If they're already smoking, a rebuild kit might not be all you need. The turbine seal grooves themselves wear out.
