Turbo Question and Hosing Question
This is two part
My first question is does anyone know how hot the center piece between the two wheels of the turbo get? or what is the temp of the oil that comes out?
Please try to be accurate, or if you are guessing say i'm guessing
And part 2:
What are my options for oil feed/return lines on a single turbo install?
Some people say use SS hose, some don't specify, and I want to use high temp 4-ply silicone hose... Is it possible to use a silicone hose that is rated to 600F?
Thanks
I've been googling temp specs for all three for about an hour now so any help is appreciated.

#1.. I assume it depends on how hard you are spooling the turbo.
#2..Most i have seen S/S hose are used. I recently read a thread where A guy noticed that heat was traveling up the stainless steel and burning the hose.I believe the switch over to hard pipe.
Just my opinion not fact..

and for hard pipe, was that a custom made deal, or something I could put together with bender and the right tubing...
Thanks again!

(how do i edit a post)
Cancel that.... Silicone has a habit of getting "soaked" in petroleum products.
SO no go on the silicone... How about high-temp oil hose? I think SS is just to look flashy, and un-necessary, especially when trying to cut costs down on turboing a car.

I would not use the silicone. As you mentioned it has poor resistance to petroleum products. It's temp rating is based on a favorable environment and limited life. 600F is nothing for a turbo housing.
If you want something less flashy, make a steel hard line that takes the oil several inches away from the housing.
