Turbo Mainfold Questions
on i know in the V8 world there are a few areas where you get what you pay for. Normall that has to do with high stress parts... blocks, rotating assemblies etc. but my question is about the turbo manifolds...there are some on ebay for less than 200 bucks...then there are a couple ive seen that are like 800. welded steel is (for the most part) welded steel...unless they are pure custom builds for dimentions needed by the customer is there any significant differences...
it makes sence that these motor make a ton more heat but is that worth 600+ more money??

ebay manifolds are usually.... not bad, but they're also sometimes not good either.
ive seen plenty of ebay manifolds on a myriad of setups where the welds simply crack, the piping itself cracks from stress(no bracing) and the flange gets warped(not thick enough).
you do get what you pay for from ebay.
but then again, ive also seen 700+hp supras using ebay manifolds and they've never shown any issues.
if you know what to look for in a well made manifold, you can spend however much money you feel comfortable with

well without xray...not alot i can do with welds..but is there a ideal thickness for the flange..AND tubing thickness...i think fabbing up something as a brace would be a good idea reguardless espically if your using a big single..
