Turbo have a crack

Hello new at working on the rx7 myself and was removing some stuff to sell and have been reading up and read that the stock twins tend to crack so looked more closely at them and they do have a crack was wondering if there still and good or just scrap thanks you

The exhaust manifold cracks alot , I cant tell by that picture but as long as it isnt all the way through your should be ok .

Thanks reason I asked was I had but them up for sale and some one is interested but don't want to sell them if there no good I let them know just want to send them pics first because they weren't sure either but thanks again its not all the way through will let them know

It looks like the top crack does travel through the gasket sealing surface.

yeah mine had so many cracks when I took it off hah

Make sure you take plenty of close up pictures so he knows what to expect.

Them cracking is not really NORMAL , it just happens and you can live with it as long as it doesnt go far enough . you should have the markings from where The gasket used to go see if it goes that far , I cant see it

Ok I'll check that out looked at the other side of The turbo and doesn't go all the way through its just on the side where the gasket goes thanks a lot for all the info

But this isnt part of the turbos themselves that is just the exhaust manifold you can remove the turbos from that manifold if the buyer's is better.

It's normal to have cracks in the manifolds. How to tell if the crack is bad (or how much time the manifold has left on it) when by how close the cracks come to going past the gasket area. As Monkman33 mentions, that crack appears to be already in the gasket area.

Yea they are and don't really want to sell them will most likely scrap it well let the person who is interested if they really want it and thinks they can make it work just pay shipping and give me whatever they want maybe 15- 20 or whatever but would suggest looking for another set thanks everyone
