Turbo Coolant Lines?! Mechanic says.......

Ok the stupid mechanic tells my friend who has a '94 RX-7 that the coolant lines to/thru the turbos are leaking INTO the turbos and that's why he's only getting 5 psi boost instead of the 10(it's stock 'cept for a downpipe) Is there any way that this could be true. "INTO" the turbos?? I did a search but didn't come up with much. Please help, hate to see him spend tons of MONEY!! So, impossible or possible. COOLANT LEAK INTO THE TURBOS?? Wouldn't he smell it from the exhaust?? Ok, anyway THANX tonz.

If you were leaking coolant into the turbos you would definitely be able to tell. If it was entering through the exhaust side of the turbo he would be blowing a lot of white smoke. If it is leaking on the compressor side I bet everything from the turbos to the LIM would have coolant in them. If the car has a warranty and the mechanic says they need to be replaced then go for it. Either way though I don't think that the mechanic knows what the hell he is talking about.

matbe the mechanic is seeing oil in the intake or something and thinks that there is a leak into the turbos. For coolant to be leaking into the turbos that sucker must have taken a bullet
