My car makes a nasty humming sound when ever the press on the gas. the 1st turbo spools fine sometimes but then when it gets to 4 or 4500 rpm's it does the nasty huming sound and the boost gauge reads only .11 or .15 bar at most. it really sux. i took my car to get it checked for a vacume leak they siad there isnt one? they told me to get a rebuild on my turbos which is going to cost like $850. please help in any other suggestions? Thanks

 

if shop ask for rebuilt then rebuit those turbos or get a new set of turbos.

are those stock turbos?
850 seems pricey for rebuild.

checked ALL vacume hoses? Actuator? Wastegate?
If all seems okay it probably is the turbos.

 

If the turbos are making noises when they spin, yes your bearings might be shot, if you can try going non seq. and see if the problem noise happens all the time, if it does then the secondary turbo is the culprit.
