tuning car over internet

Would it be possible to take my car into any shop and hook it up to the internet so someone at a knowledgeable shop could tune it or atleast tell me what to do?

No good Rotary tuners in Canada, eh? I guess that's why your country sucks!!! lol just playin man, no flames intended... as far as i know this is not practical but is possible. (or maybe it isn't?) where is the "english motherf*ucker, do you speak it? " when you need it...

Canada is not a real country is it now? Just kidding dude. I said that to a Canadian professor once. I dropped the class soon after!!

I think McLaren F1 does allow computer download of its engine's performance and history. However tuning is something else. I guess car computers just are that compatible with PCs. One way for car makers to keep ppl from messing up the cars due to misprogramming or downloading a virus on the net and blowing their engines!

I don't see any reason why, with an AEM, you couldn't tune the maps. Just run something like PC Anywhere, or WinVNC, and push the pedal when they say to.

But there is more to tuning than just the maps.

That may be a solution for me too ..I have to fly folks down to the Caribbean to do my Single conversion with Haltech install, fuel set up ..all that crap ...it's allot cheaper to do that than re-build.

my 2 cents.
