Tune first? or upgrade injectors and tune?

See mod list below:

I have yet to tune my PFC on my FD3S.
And have been getting very high injector
duties at WOT..

So Should I tune my PFC with my current mods?

Or should I get/install 1300cc secondaries, then tune.

Thanks..

If you duty cycles are already high(nearing 90%), you need the injectors. Replacing the injectors will require tuning afterwards anyhow. Unless you own a Dyno and a wideband O2 sensor, tuning before upgrading the injectors would not only be a waste of time, but a waste of $$ IMHO.

Get the injectors. What fuel pump are you running?

make sure you have an upgraded fuel pump before adding the larger injectors

Also, what psi are you running? If you are running 12-13, you might be fine with the stock injectors. You might just be running very rich. I think I would do a couple of dyno runs with a wideband before I went through the hassle and expense of upgrading the fuel system.

Of course, I know better than to contradict ErnieT, so maybe you should just get the injectors and pump!

How odd. I am in the same boat. My PFC was tuned by XS before I recieved it but I hit 100% Duty Cycle almost every time I wide open throttle it. I am going to order a set of 1600 Bosch Injectors and a new fuel rail from RX7Store here pretty soon and then get my car runed on a dyno with a wideband but I can't find a shop anywhere near here that knows how to tune the PFC. So I guess, injectors first then tune. That's what I thought. Anyone know of a shop in the midwest that can tune the PFC? scott
