Question Tsudo Down Pipe - Buy or Don't Buy???

I'm a newbie to RX-7's. I wanted get a down pipe off of eBay. I've posted the link for it below.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

I'm going to be running this with the stock exhaust. I just want the heat out of the engine bay. I'm going for only reliability mods for now.

Have any of you had any bad or good experiences with these generic type of downpipes?

Thanks for your insights!

Fitment is a big issue with the DP...if it were a MP there would be a little room for error but not much with the DP since with the stock twins in place, things are tight....Mmmmmm, Tight, twins...so nice...I'd say if you need a DP go with something that people know will fit well. Here's one at gotham for some more pennies but worth the piece of mind that it WILL fit properly http://www.gothamracing.com/catalog/...roducts_id=852

I got the ebay downpipe and midpipe from megan racing in california. It fit great and I got a nice boost in power, not to mention drastic reduction in underhood temps.

That's because it's made for right hand drivers and it needs to squeeze past he steering column. I wouldn't recommend this pipe for folks with left hand drivers.

Yes, get the downpipe. You'd be a idiot not to, the fitment is perfect. Do a search on Tsudo downpipe, and you'll see no one has had any issues with it. PS that's what I got and have had no problem.

hmmm a whole lot of bashing on the tsudo downpipe but guess what.It fits perfectly without having to also use the midpipe.
go here for the downpipe midpipe combo www.city-speed.com . Toghether it cost me like 115.It was the best hundred dollars or so ive ever spent.Save your money man.A downpipe for 2 to 3 hundred dollars is just plain stupid. If you like I can take pics of the tsudo downpipe fitment for you so you can see that im not bullshiting you.Its quite possibly the best bang for the buck you can get.On a side note you will need some squeeze clamps that are similar to vise grips which will help you put the main cat flange and the downpie flange toghether as it is hard to do with just your bare hands. This goes for any kind of exhaust work you do.

I bought one of these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2481183240 The buy it now was only $70 so I was kinda worried, but it fit perfectly and even with the ghetto looking gasket it came with, i had no problems. When I installed it, I wrapped it and it dropped the underhood temps enough that after a hard run I could grap my tb pipe and not be burned.

a word of advice on the gasket that comes with the donwpipe. The one that connects the downpipe to the main cat is alright. The one that connects to the turbo manifold is carboard and will catch on fire.Trust me I know from experience.Order a new one.Youll be glad you did.

hks is mild steel versus all the other pipes being stainless steel. So if corrosion is a factor stick with stainless steel.

I haven't seen any mild steel pipes rust out, it really isn't an issue.

well however its speeled its the cheapest downpipe and midpipe combo that fit and work individually of each toher.Meaning that you dont have to add the midpipe if you dont want to.Plus its stainless steel.Cant beat it.
