Ive had mine for 2+ years. Black paint, black interior, and no AC... Car that gets painfully hot in the summer here in NC and my tripower pod looks the same as the day I bought it..

Very weird that some people are having issues... Call Tripower and get everyone together tha has had this problem. Im sure they would much rather replace them than alienate the community.

Thumbs down for this ATI product. It MELTED at the pod and base. I haven't used it particularly long, and am very disappointed. I warn everyone to stay away, there are some other quality issues as well.

ATI customer support is OK, they are polite but could only offer to give me a discounted price on a replacement, this price is $60ish dollars.

Now I don't know if it was just a problem with the materials used to manufacture the batch mine was a part of, but I overall I don't think it is worth the risk to try this product. I do appreciate their attempt to fix the situation by offering a discount on a replacement though.

 

I just installed my Tripoint pod with Defi Racer-X gauges. I simply used my Dremel tool to slightly grind down the section of the gauge "ring" to slide it on. Granted I can't adjust the ring like the others, but I put my water temp gauge in that spot, set the indicating arrow to 200F and called it good.

It is completely unnoticeable....

I will add, my car is also garage kept 99% of it's life. Hopefully it doesn't deform as others have mentioned..... time will tell.

 

Those that live in hotter climates, have you tried utilizing a reflective windshield screen when the car is parked? Are your windows tinted?

Just some thoughts. I know our poor FD's are known to have weak interior's. The peeling issues from the 93's come to mind. I am blessed with a 94 that was garage kept, but I still use a reflective screen in the summer when it is parked outside...

 

Exactly what I did and no issues with the Tri-Point pod.

 

I've lived in the hottest temps of Houston, Nashville, and Tampa and my pod is fine. I only have tinted windows but don't have anything on the windshield. I bet they redesigned it with a different plastic.

 

Just so people know tripower is not making this pod right now. It could be months before they are going again.

 

Really? Then I guess I need to get the one I have in my garage, along with the Defi gauges that are in it, in the for sale section.

Do you guys think covering it in leather or alcantara will add extra protection against melting? I don't know if this part can be covered properly though. And if it will fit properly when covered....

 

I've had my tripower pod for almost a year and mine isn't melted...
