Thanks for the clarification surge.

I still cannot for the life of me figure out WHY its happening in third gear. Christian Im going to send you a PM about the datalogit. Thats what I tried to get brought to the Chicago meet but I had no luck. I am commanderless right now, so I cannot observe what my Power FC is doing. I went in favor of getting a datalogit (next on my list) instead of the commander. Is it possible that maybe my PFC is dumping in a shitload of fuel for some odd reason, causing a huge backfire that would be enough to spool up the exhaust turbines so quickly that it results in a spike?

Steve Kan suggested I change my plugs when I First had this problem to see if my description above was happening.

However, now that I think about it, I used another members Power FC and the problem did not go away, so that kindof rules my power FC out of the question.

Perphaps my WG solenoid is failing but that still confuses me as to why it only happens in third gear.

{Hijack response} Christian you totally have to make it out with us this year. I have about 4-5 friends going up to my summer house (30min from gingerman) over laborday weekend and the vette day. You and victor are both completely welcome to come along and stay at my summer house whenever you'd want to(when your cars are up and running ) . Tons of fun upthere without even going to gingerman But our plan is, wake up , race, go home sleep wake up race, drink.. etc lol. We play on spending plenty of weekends up there this summer. {/hijack response}

why it happens in third only..I dunno.

sounds like the WG is slamming shut...why? I dunno. Actuator failing? I'd check everything about the WG.

how else could you go from ~12psi to 16.8psi in a blink of the eye. the twins aren't that quick...unless you've done the afterburner mod.

Ok apparently my boost controller WAS the problem But I dont understand why.

Maybe it had somthing to do with my settings? Would anyone out there be able to share their SBC-ID boost controller settings that have midpipes?

With the pills out, and the stock connections, my boost creeps up to 12 in second, and about 12.7 in third (which is to high, so I need to figure out some sort of boost controll.) But if I start in third gear, I dont get the weird problem at 7k, so it seems as if my boost controller was the problem.

Im thinking maybe I have the wrong settings on my boost controller.

I have the wastegate (Gain) setting at like 12, and then I had the boost set at 0 and the problem was occuring, does anyone have any idea if it could be messing it up?

Thanks!

good job now start a new thread just on your specific boost controller and see if they can help you out

you cant do anything about the 12.7 creep in higher gears it will go to 13 or a little more too its just the wastegate is too small so dont go 100+ mph and youll be ok
