Transporting an RX-7

I am towing my 3rd Gen on an auto transport trailer (vehicle is off the ground) and considering putting my car cover on it while traveling. Is this a good idea or will the cover scratch the car? It’s a fairly snug fit.

Thanks!

Think about it... What happens when you take it on and off? If it is gonna scratch... it's gonna scratch in then too. I would say leaving it on will just keep it from having to be washed to remove the bugs....

I meant more on will the wind or speed of the towing vehicle cause the cover to rub against the car while its moving.

From experience with towing yachts ... I'd suggest leaving it off. Unless it's an absolutely perfect fit with no movement then it will cause damage to the paintwork.

Just set aside a few hours when it arrives and give it a good clean.
