Transmission Rebuild shop or parts and DIY?

I am looking to rebuild the manual transmission in my 93 rx7. I have a liberty gears replacement main shaft to put in as part of the rebuild. The transmission has a grind in 2nd and 5th which were there when i got the car in 2001. I am wary of shops but would consider a recommended shop. What is the consensus on OEM parts vs transmission shop parts kits (https://www.transmissionpartsdistrib...CABEgLtrPD_BwE) . No affiliation just preparing if there is no shop and having to do my own work.

Have you considered sending it off to Liberty's Gears for the rebuild itself?

We offer a full rebuild service. Price is $1899 with all oem bearings, seals, and synchros if you bring us the trans. The Liberty parts can be installed at the same time.
