transmission grind???
transmission grind???
there is something weir going on with my 7. just the other day i took it out to go do somethings then i came home while driving it everything was fine car was smooth and shifted fine. then about 4 hours later i was getting ready to leave again then i started my car and while holding the clutch down i heard a loud grind and felt it in the pedal. and now it grinds when i depress the clutch and i cant think of what is causing it. because i smell no clutch when it does that.
so its in the pedal and not the actual shifter?? does the pedal feel softer??? you may have cracked the clutch fork. if the pedal feels very soft and kind of "crunchy" and when the pedal is all the way down and you go to put it in gear it grinds, its because the clutch is not all the way engaged due to a cracked fork. ive done it a thousand times. usually a heavier pressure plate can cause that.. im not sure if this is what is going on but it sort of sounds like it.
and the clutch feels like it always has smooth with a heavy feel, because of the act street strip clutch
A. Jack it up and secure it with stands.
B. Get under the car and pull the trans inspection plates
C. With a strong light, observe the fork action while an assistant slowly pumps the pedal.
