Transmission Fluid?

Ok so I've looked around and I seem to keep getting two answers. My question is can you fill the transmission with fluid from the top (Remove shifter and pour in) Ive found some people say yes and others say not its different. Can someone please let me know if i can do this or will i have to fill it from the fill port? Thank you

No. The compartment under the shifter is separate from the gears. So you will need to fill from the side ports on the gear box.

But it is recommended to pour some gearbox oil in the bit under the shifter to lubricate the linkages etc.
