tranny wont line up??

hello, i dropped my tranny and now ready to put it back together and it locked in but now its stuck at 1/2 an inch off on the bottom and 1 1/4 inch off at the top. i tried everything i can think of.
any help would be greatly apreciated

Lift the front of the motor, leave the motor mounts hooked up and it'll tilt back towards the firewall, it'll pop right in.

If you get it within a 1/4 inch or so, and it's even all the way around, you can use the bolts to draw it together.

did u have the clutch off.... maybe u didnt align it well enough.......

no i didnt have the clutch off, i just took a look to see whats inside since its a new car.

have someone hang off the down pipe to tilt the motor back, while u lift the tranny in to position.(u can also use a long crowbar in the end for more leverage) once u get the imput shaft into the clutch hole u have to get a little cowboy with it.
the motor drops forward and rests on the front of the subframe when u disconnect the ppf do to the motor mounts being mounted to the back side of the engine only
